ontgomery Baptist Church began because of the burden and vision of its former Senior Pastor, Bernard Hamilton, to see a church equipped to reach the world with the gospel of Jesus Christ. Bernard Hamilton began praying about a team of leaders who would help him in seeing this vision become a reality.

his led Pastor Hamilton to three men and their families: Donald Boyd, Andrew Barnes, and Leon Green. These men expressed their interest in being part of the church start mission. They had become co-laborers with other believers to form the ministry team of Montgomery Baptist Church.       

n January 21, 1996, by the grace of God, Montgomery Baptist Church held its first public worship service in the multi-purpose room of the Forest Oak Middle School located in Gaithersburg, Maryland. And, although each of the founding members have left to continue thier own respective ministries in different parts of the country, the original vision of a church equipping souls to spread the gospel continues as "MBC" enters its' next phase under the capable leadership of the newly elected Senior Pastor Russ Isler.

nder the leadership of Pastor Isler, MBC continued to make strides in growing the Church. With God’s blessings and continued prayer, Montgomery Baptist Church should continue to flourish for years to come.
